Election 2026

I'm proud to represent the East Coast Bays

I was first elected as the Member of Parliament for East Coast Bays in 2017, and it has been an absolute honour and privilege to represent and serve this wonderful community ever since.

Throughout my time as your local MP, I have been committed to supporting residents and helping those in need. Following the Auckland Anniversary floods, I brought together an incredible team of volunteers who helped clear flooded homes and businesses, while also delivering food parcels to hundreds of affected households.

Community engagement has always been at the heart of my work. I have hosted numerous local events, including SuperBlues gatherings for our senior residents, spoken at retirement villages across the electorate, visited businesses and schools, and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Browns Bay Santa Parade each year. I’ve also really enjoyed supporting the Breast Cancer Foundation with events, breakfasts and auction items - they are a charity close to my heart.

One of my proudest achievements this parliamentary term was helping to save North Harbour Stadium. I launched the “Save Our Stadium” campaign and, within just 10 days, more than 800 submissions were collected and presented to Auckland Council. It was a tremendous victory for our community when the Council voted to retain the stadium.

I currently serve as Minister of Education and Minister of Immigration. Since taking on these responsibilities in November 2023, I have led major reforms to reverse decades of declining student achievement. These reforms have introduced high and consistent standards across the curriculum, assessment, and reporting to parents.

I have also strengthened the immigration system to better support economic growth, protect opportunities for New Zealanders, and attract the skills our country needs. This has included taking steps to address the unsustainably high net migration levels experienced in 2023.

As someone who was born and raised in the East Coast Bays, I have a deep personal connection to this area. I attended Rangitoto College before completing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Auckland. Prior to entering Parliament, I worked in export roles for New Zealand manufacturers and also spent time as a television producer.

My husband and I are proud to raise our two children here in the Bays. I am passionate about ensuring East Coast Bays remains one of the very best places in New Zealand to live, work, and raise a family.

I would greatly appreciate your vote in November.
