Room 19 at Long Bay Primary have worked hard all year on a project to highlight the need to extend the Long Bay marine reserve to the southern end of Waiake beach. Last week a sub-committee of my Environment Select Committee travelled to the school to hear these amazing young people submit on the petition that they delivered to me earlier in the year with over 3,000 signatures. They were professional and their call for action was passionate. Congratulations to their teacher Mr Joyes for inspiring these kids.
